Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American performer and dancer. The first Broadway role titles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She won her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors, directors and stage and screen for her entire career. Ashford's upcoming production will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. As a Hulu Original, the film will become available on Disney DTC's digital platforms. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford returns to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the control of the show. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is a remake of the story that took place in the year 2000. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp were the main characters in the very first impeachment trial in the United States. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the successful series that was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured iconic actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. The other Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her days between Los Angeles, and New York.
